In the span of a couple of days our event went from about to be approved for 1,000 people to a modification that would allow it to be approved for 750 people to being told it would have to be cut down to 50 people per event. An event like this would not work with so few people and we were left with no choice but to cancel the December 5th, 2020 Run Laughlin events.
We are looking in to the possibility of rescheduling the events for January or February but of course there is a great deal of uncertainty involved in such efforts. If you were already signed up for the live event on Dec. 5th, you are now signed up for the 2021 Run Laughlin event to be held on December 4th, 2021. There is nothing you need to do at this time to confirm your registration for Laughlin.
More details on the virtual event will be forthcoming and at that time, you will be able to switch to that event or to one of our other events if you choose.

November 13th Update:

Until yesterday, all indications we had received from regional and local government had been that our plan for mitigating the risk of contagion at our event was comprehensive and that after several tweaks, it was a matter of it being reviewed and approved by the appropriate authorities. We remained optimistic until we were told last night that Nevada is concerned about the recent spike and is modifying their approach until things improve.

Harrah

Clark County is not issuing event permits until the follow two indicators improve for at least three consecutive days.

The seven day average of cases must drop below 750 (this morning it was at 888)

The positive test rate needs to be below 8% (this morning it was at 11.6%)

We can wait until the 19th before rescheduling the event planned for Dec. 5th but given how far away the county is from the goals, we are no longer optimistic that we will get approval by then to host the event on this date.

We are looking at the possibility of rescheduling to either Saturday or Sunday of the Martin Luther King three day weekend in January.

Please visit our FAQ page for our cancellation policy and the COVID-19 mitigation practices we will be implementing this year.
